650,000 dead and counting: "A study published today says that between 400,000 and 900,000 people have died thus far as a result of the Iraq invasion of 2003. The median figure is 650,000. The study was performed by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and was published today by the British medical journal The Lancet, one of the oldest and most respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the world, and is available for download. Taking the median figure of 650,000 death, it is approximately 2.5 percent of the Iraqi population, and means that on average in the 1,301 days since the beginning of the Iraq war, 500 people have died each day as a result of the conflict.
