Mail: Status column can display unread count from message threads

If you use the threading view in Mail (View > Organize by Thread), you can change the width of the status column to show the number of unread items in a thread. This column also displays other icons next to individual messages to denote when you have replied or forwarded them.
Mail has done this for some time, at least since 10.4 Tiger.
