Three things
- Make sure you have a big hard drive connected and time machine running to back up the server on OSX ; something equivalent in Windows
- Buy a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that is OSX compatible - it will come with a USB cable and OSX software that detects a power outage and shuts down the server before the batteruy runs out in 15-20 minutes - something equivalent in Windows
- Buy two thumb drives; copy the database to the Thumb drive once a week and take offsite to another area; swap out thumb drives once a week
- Optional - burn a CD of the database once a month and archive offsite
